TV Ratings: Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita improves ratings

After premiering with 28 percent last Monday, GMA-7's latest primetime soap opera, Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita, has improved its rating the following nights—up to 29.7 percent last night, March 27. But it has yet to reach the 30-percent mark.

Meanwhile, Joaquin Bordado and Kamandag are still neck-to-neck for the No. 1 position. Robin Padilla's Joaquin Bordado took the lead Tuesday (34.4 percent) and Thursday (34.1 percent) while Richard Gutierrez's Kamandag grabbed the top position Wednesday (33.1 percent).

ABS-CBN's Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus continues its hold to the No. 5 position; posting its highest rating so far last Tuesday (March 25) with 26.4 percent. The reality show also leads all Kapamilya shows.

In the daytime race, Eat Bulaga! is getting a stiff competition from the latest season of Daisy Siete. Ramiele Malubay is in Top 9 of American Idol

Filipino-American Ramiele Malubay was declared safe again in the latest elimination of "American Idol Season 7."

Chikezie was eliminated while Syesha Mercado and Jason Castro were in the bottom three.

On the fourth week of the final round, the Top 10 finalists sang songs from the year they were born. Ramiele, who was born on September 6, 1987, picked "Alone" by Heart—a song already performed by American Idol Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood and Ramiele's co-finalist Carly Smithson.

Ramiele, who was under the weather during the performance night, surprisingly got favorable reviews from Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell but not from Randy Jackson saying the diminutive Fil-Am's rendition was "a little pitchy all over the place" and the song was "too big" for her.

Ramiele, Syesha, and Jason are joined in the Top 9 by David Cook, David Archuleta, Carly Smithson, Brooke White, Michael Johns, and Kristy Lee Cook.

Despite Ramiele's not-so-good performances and dead-last ranking in ew.com's power list, she has yet to be at the bottom three along with the two Davids, Brooke, and Michael.

Because she had made it to the Top 10, Ramiele will also be part of the Idol Tour.

Next week, the remaining Idol finalists will sing country songs and they will have country legend Dolly Parton as mentor.

Ramiele sails through the Top 12 of American Idol

Filipino-American Ramiele Malubay survived the last cut to sail through the Top 12 of this year's American Idol.

In the last elimination before the Top 12, Ramiele was among those who luckily made it in the next round.

The four who were eliminated and did not make it in the Top 12 were Luke Menard, Kady Malloy, Asia'h Epperson, and the openly gay Danny Noriega.

The remaining six female contestants and six male contestants will go up against each other starting next week.

Ramiele will be joined in the Top 12 by fellow female contestants Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado, Amanda Overmyer, Carly Smithson, and Brooke White.

The male contestants who made it the next round are David Archuleta, Chikezie, David Cook, Jason Castro, David Hernandez, and Michael Johns.

For her first performance in the elimination round, Ramiele sang "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" by Dusty Springfield that drew praises from the three judges—Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell.

Ramiele's next two performances though—"Don't Leave Me This Way" by Thelma Houston and "Against All Odds" by Phil Collins—did not impress the judges too much.

But without a doubt, Ramiele has one of the best vocals in the competition and this is enough for America to put her through the Top 12.

The winner will win $1 million and the the title of American Idol. -
