Paolo Bediones to "host" Survivor Philippines

The last time na-interview ng PEP si Paolo, wala pa siyang matukoy na bago niyang show after Tok, Tok, Tok!.

- Philippine Entertainment Portal

Heart Evangelista is "Proud to be a Kapuso"

I’m proud to be Kapuso!"

Kasama roon sina Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Chairman, President & CEO; Mr. Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President & COO; Ms. Wilma V. Galvante, Sr. Vice President for Entertainment; Atty. Annette Gozon-Abrogar, President of GMA Films; at iba pa.

“I’m excited. It’s something new. It’s like, para siyang bagong school. Kung baga e different university, so kinakabahan.

“She’s doing prime time soap. And then she’s joining SOP, and then we’re lining up a sinenobela for her and most probably a Koreanobela," ayon kay Ms Wilma Galvante.

Pero parang we come from two different worlds so imposible.

“We gonna start shooting on May 5," nakangiting ibinalita ni Heart.

- Fidel Jimenez, GMANews.TV

Annabelle Rama clarifies “lipatan” issue involving son Richard Gutierrez

“Ako, hindi ako nai-insecure sa kahit kaninong artista,” says Annabelle Rama about the rumored “tampo” with GMA network.

For the first time, Annabelle Rama answered the nagging question of showbiz reporters, “Totoo bang lilipat si Richard Gutierrez sa ABS-CBN?”

After the press conference of her newest product endorsement, Circulan, at Annabel’s restaurant on Timog Avenue, Quezon City, Annabelle sat down with showbiz reporters and explained everything about the rumored transfer of her son/talent Richard.

“Actually, ngayon lang ako magsasalita, ha, kasi never akong nag-comment,” Annabelle started her lengthy explanation. “Hindi ba, tinatanong ako, di ba? Never akong nag-comment sa video at saka sa print.

THE HINDRANCE. At first, Annabelle vaguely answered the media why they were having second thought of renewing Richard’s contract with GMA network.

“Is it because of the talent fee?” asked one of the reporters.

Then, she finally revealed the factor why they have not yet decided to renew their contract.

Kasi ang two years, mahirap ‘yang two years, baka every month maghingi ka pa. Mukha kang kawawa, ‘Ano bang klaseng project ‘to, di ba?”

TOO-GOOD-TO-REFUSE OFFER. In a report saying Richard might move to ABS-CBN, it was also mentioned that Richard’s camp has received a “too-good-to-refuse” offer from the Kapamilya network.

This was clarified right away by Jun Lalin, publicist of the Gutierrez family. Speaking on behalf of Annabelle, he told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “Nakakahiya on the part of the Gutierrezes, na baka sabihin we are really entertaining such offer, at nakakahiya rin sa ABS dahil wala naman talagang ganoon.

On the other hand, when Annabelle was asked if the offer was true, she answered, “Actually, yung offer, hindi naman mawawala yun, e.”

Then, she said that the “lipatan” issue never came from them nor they were using ABS-CBN to make Richard’s talent fee in GMA-7 higher.

Approved lahat yun, walang problema.”

RESOLUTION. Despite the pressure of the media, Annabelle still refused to divulge the problem they have with some of the Kapuso staff. Instead, she just said that they have talked about the issue with GMA-7 president Felipe Gozon and program manager Redgie Magno-Acuña when they had a dinner recently.

“Ayos na. Nag-meeting kami noong isang gabi kaya okay na kami,” said Annabelle. “Actually, hindi meeting yun, e. Parang inimbitahan lang nila kaming mag-dinner, kaming mag-asawa [she and husband Eddie Gutierrez], Atty. and Mrs. [Felipe] Gozon, Redgie, at Richard.

At the end, she told the media that she is set to have a meeting with GMA-7’s senior vice president for entertainment Wilma Galvante tonight, April 11, to talk about the said problem and hopefully settle everything.

GMA-7 gets Philippine franchise of Survivor

Survivor is now in the Philippines.

Rumors have been going on that the popular reality game show will finally have a franchise in the Philippines. It was also rumored that the US version is shooting its next season in an island in Camarines Sur.

Although it is not yet confirmed if the next season of Survivor (US version) is really shooting in CamSur, it has been announced that Survivor will have its own franchise here in the Philippines.

And the Philippine network that got the franchise rights is GMA-7.

In fact, GMA Network has already announced audition dates to search the first batch of 16 castaways in Survivor Philippines.

The audition is open to males and females, 18 to 60 years old. They must be physically fit and willing to become castaways and endure intense physical and mental challenges in an unfamiliar territory for 39 days.

The audition dates are as follows:

DAVAO (SM Davao) - May 1 and 2
CEBU (SM Cebu) - May 5 and 6
ILOILO (SM Iloilo) - May 8 and 9
BAGUIO (SM Baguio) - May 17 and 18

It has not yet been announced who will host Survivor Philippines, but many are hoping that Paolo Bediones would get the job since he already have an experience hosting this kind of format in Extra Challenge, also in GMA-7.

Survivor was created in 1992 by Charlie Parsons, and the first production to use this format was the Swedish show Expedition: Robinson in 1997.

Soon after, in 2000, other countries developed their own series based on this format: Belgium, Brazil, the Netherlands, and, of course, the United States. Aside from these countries, Survivor has also been franchised in Australia, Bulgaria, Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom, and Venezuela.

And now, add to that list the Philippines, which has so many breathtaking islands ideal for Survivor locations

TV Ratings: Pinoy Idol, Tasya Fantasya debut impressively

Two new shows from GMA-7 made their debuts last weekend, the reality-based singing competition Pinoy Idol and the afternoon fantaserye Tasya Fantasya.

Pinoy Idol, a franchise of the international Idol competitions around the world, debuted last Saturday, April 5, at No. 3 with 26.3 percent; behind Bitoy's Funniest Videos' 32.2 percent and Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho's 30.2%. The show is hosted by Raymond Gutierrez with Ogie Alcasid, Jolina Magdangal, and Wyngard Tracy as judges.

Tasya Fantasya, starring Yasmien Kurdi, had its premiere last Sunday, April 6, with 15.7. Since the rating of Invasion: The Philippines vs. The World, where Filipino boxer Gerry Peñalosa beat Thai challenger Ratanachai Sor Vorapin, is not yet unavailable, the ranking of the Top 10 daytime shows are not yet determined.

After more than three months, The Buzz finally beat Showbiz Central again. The Buzz, which featured live interviews with Annabelle Rama and co-host Ruffa Gutierrez, got 11.5 percent versus Showbiz Central's 10 percent.

TV Ratings: Eat Bulaga, Daisy Siete, Joaquin Bordado, Kamandag lead

There is very slight movement in the ratings game the past few days.

Eat Bulaga! and Daisy Siete are still topping the daytime race while Joaquin Bordado and Kamandag are still lording it over in the primetime race.

The longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga!, was the No. 1 show Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. However, Daisy Siete managed to slip into the lead Wednesday.

This is the exact scenario between Joaquin Bordado and Kamandag. Robin Padilla's Joaquin Bordado took the top spot Monday to Wednesday but Richard Gutierrez's Kamandag grabbed that position Thursday.

Meanwhile, the two Sine Novelas of GMA-7, Maging Akin Ka Lamang and Kaputol ng Isang Awit, never fail to make it in the Top 5. ABS-CBN's noontime show, Wowowee, is still the top Kapamilya show in the daytime race.

In the primetime race, the soap opera Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita and the primetime newscast 24 Oras are still in a tight race for the third and fourth positions, although the reality show Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus managed to slip into the fourth place Monday.

The Piolo Pascual-Angel Locsin starrer, Lobo, improved its rating Tuesday to grab the fifth position from PBB Teen Edition Plus.

Other primetime shows that consistently make it in the Top 10 are Kung Fu Kids, TV Patrol World, The Legend, and Palos.

It is also interesting to note that the gap in the audience share between GMA-7 and ABS-CBN narrowed considerably since Marimar ended its run last March 14. April 7 (GMA-7 -18 percent; ABS-CBN - 12.4 percent); April 8 (GMA-7 - 17.5 percent; ABS-CBN -13.5 percent); April 9 (GMA-7 -16.8 percent; ABS-CBN - 12.3 percent); and April 10 (GMA-7 - 16.5 percent; ABS-CBN - 13.2 percent).
